F4 - Corporate and Business Law

Lecturer: Meg Burke BL
Meg has a Law and French Degree from University College Cork, as well as a barrister at Law Degree from the Honourable Society of Kings Inns. She is currently a practising Barrister, with a particular interest in the area of Company Law. She has also spent time working in the Office of the Public Defender, San Francisco.

Lecturer: Jim Daly CPA
Jim is a full time lecturer with Griffith College. He has been lecturing on professional accountancy programmes in Ireland since 1995 and has a reputation as being one of the leading lecturers in Ireland in the areas of Management Accounting and Costing. Jim, who is based in Cork, is a Director of Griffith College Cork.

Lecturer: Martin Daly, B.Comm FCA
Martin is the principal of his own tax consultancy business in Cork. He has lectured on tax subjects with Griffith College over the last 11 years.


F7 - Financial Reporting

Lecturer: Brian O'Halloran B.Comm., CPA
Brian has lectured on all the Professional Accountancy programmes over the last 12 years. Brian specialises in the area of Financial Accounting and consistently achieves outstanding results. He is a very popular lecturer with the students.


F8 - Audit and Assurance

Lecturer: Umesh Rana B.Comm., CPA (USA)
Umesh is a Senior Auditing Lecturer with Griffith College and has been with the college for over ten years. He has lectured ACCA, ACA and CPA courses at all levels in both our Dublin and Cork campuses. Additionally, he has lectured  for Chartered Accountants Ireland at the FAE level for the past eight years. Prior to joining Griffith College, Umesh accumulated over 11 years of diverse and practical auditing experience with Ernst & Young (U.K.) and Pricewaterhouse Coopers (U.S.). Umesh's strong, no-nonsense, 'hands on' auditing experience makes his lectures very popular amongst students. His theoretical knowledge applied to "real life" audit situations/examples, ensure that students learn how to apply that theoretical knowledge to scenario's appearing in exams and achieve the best results compared to  national and worldwide ACCA students. Since he started lecturing, Umesh's lecturing style has seen his students win over 21 national  ACCA prizes.

Lecturer: Brid Creedon, BSc (BIS), ACCA, Dip IFR
Brid works with a blue chip multinational company in Cork in their Shared Services Centre. She delivers a number of courses on finance and management issues and is a very experienced and accomplished lecturer in her field.


P2 - Corporate Reporting

Lecturer: Christy Kearney, B.Comm, FCA
Christy is an acknowledged expert in International Financial Reporting having lectured at CPD level on the final exams for ACA, ACCA & CPA. He consistently achieves outstanding results.

P5 - Advanced Performance Management (with Jim Daly)

Lecturer: Susan O Flynn B.Comp.Sc., Dip. Bus. Management
Susan is a qualified software engineer with extensive project management, business analysis and strategy experience. She is an accomplished lecturer and has been lecturing on information systems, business strategy and analysis with Griffith College for the past 10 years. Susan has had a number of prizewinners on ACCA, CPA and CIMA.

Lecturer: Edel Walsh, BSc Finance, ACA, AITI
Edel has spent a number of years working as a financial accountant and a tax consultant in a big four accountancy firm. Edel has taught on a wide range of accountancy programmes, CPA, ACA, ACCA, IATI as well giving CPD courses to accountancy professionals. She is a highly accomplished lecturer and is very popular with students.


P7 - Advanced Audit and Assurance

Lecturer: Patrick MacSweeny B.Sc BIS, ACA
Griffith College are delighted to welcome Patrick to the lecturing team this year. Patrick comes to P7 with a significant reputation for excellence in the delivery of high level auditing papers. Patrick is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland and an Associate Director with KPMG, specialising in the area of Audit.
