CPA 2009 Programme

Please Note:

Students waiting on results may book a place on the April 2009 programme by submitting an application form and stating that they are waiting on results. Applications must be accompanied by a deposit of €50 per subject. The deposit amount can be offset against chosen subjects once results have been confirmed.

All other students must submit payment in full or a €100 deposit per subject when submitting an application.

Griffith College Cork Professional Accountancy - CPA Programme 2009

Griffith College is acknowledged by the CPA Institute to be an educational center of excellence. Griffith College has assembled a team of lecturers that are recognised by both past and current CPA students as the cream of lecturing talent in Ireland. Each lecturer comes from strong academic background and also has ample practical experience in their individual subject areas. Their tried and tested tutorial techniques have produced outstanding results.

CPA New Structure

The CPA exam structure consists of four exam levels, Formation 1, Formation 2, Professional 1 and Professional 2. Holders of recognised certificates, diplomas, degrees and professional qualifications are entitled to exemptions from some of the papers from Formation 1, 2 and Professional 1 below on a subject-by-subject basis. If you are sitting examinations for the 1st time you must register with the CPA Institute. This information can be found on their website www.cpaireland.ie

Entry requirements for the CPA qualification are:
Holder of leaving certificate or A levels, having obtained passes in six subjects, three of which are at least grade C or higher in three higher level papers.

Griffith College Cork are currently offering courses for Formation 2, Professional I and Professional II.

CPA Professional 1 Subjects

  • Managerial Finance
  • Corporate Reporting
  • Corporate Laws and Governance
  • Auditing

CPA Professional 2 Mandatory Subjects

  • Advanced Corporate Reporting
  • Strategy Leadership and Knowledge Management

Electives

  • Audit Practice and Assurance Service
  • Advanced Taxation

    Students intending to qualify and apply for a practice certificate must sit and pass the Auditing and Taxation elective subjects
  • Strategic Corporate Finance
  • Strategic Performance Management

    Students wishing to pursue a career in industry will, in most circumstances, opt for the Strategic Performance Management and Strategic Corporate Finance electives in addition to the two mandatory subjects
